Andrology
Andrology means the research on male reproductive health. The field of research includes the treatment and prevention of disorders of the male reproductive system, including the testes, penis, prostate, and epididymis. Andrologists also treat disorders of sexual function and hormone regulation, infertility, and consult on issues related to reproduction and contraception.
The term andrology emerged in the late 19th century and was first developed in 1891 as a counterpart to gynecology.
