We are Better Birth Control
In 2021, the co-founders of Better Birth Control, Jana and Rita, initiated a petition for better contraception, which not only generated wide public visibility in society and politics, but also resulted in the founding of a non-profit association. Since then, Better Birth Control has been promoting sex education and advising federal policy-makers on providing better and gender equal contraception.

Our achievements and goals
What we do
In eight months, we have successfully incorporated better contraception into the current agenda of German federal policy - but there is more work to be done.
Petition
With our petition for better contraception, we were able to collect more than 130,000 signatures and acquire various supporters for our demands.
German parties
Demands for better contraception were included in the party agendas of the FDP, SPD, Greens and LINKE for the 2021 federal elections.
Federal Government
We were successful in convincing the German government to include the demands for better contraception in the coalition agreement.
Research funding
Up to 60 million euros per year are now available for contraceptive research! The Bundestag Budget Committee has approved a new funding guideline on "Contraceptives for all genders".
Free access to contraceptives
We aim to make equal and free contraception a reality – on a national and international level.
