Sperm

Sperm are the male reproductive cells produced in the testicles. During penetrative sexual intercourse, sperm can be ejected from the penis by ejaculation and can thus fertilize the ovum, given that an ovum has matured at that time. Sperm are therefore necessary for reproduction and contain genetic material in the form of DNA, which is passed on when the ovum is fertilized.

* While we speak of women and men, we are aware of the diversity of genders and demand better contraception for all people.
